Jen Kearney & The Lost Onion: Music

Peso Del Mundo

(Jen Kearney & The Lost Onion)
I feel as red-raw
as the raging bull's face after a thousand-dollar punch
and a fixed-fight cheer.

And in all the world
of all the sounds
this is the one
this is the one that I hear.

It's as real as I can feel real as I can feel
my heart beats fast
my blood congeals

and my eyes are wide open
the chip has long since broken
and I see it all so very clear.

Believe me I have tried can't seem to get
my fists to uncurl
And all this pushing and punching
makes my head feel like the weight of the world.

It's the numb ring light of a prize fight night
when I hear the first sound of your name in flight
and why shouldn't I fight? Why shouldn't I fight?

I'm just tired in the body, sore in the mind
swinging at all the tangible things that I can find
until it hits me... until it hits me.

Believe me I have tried can't seem to get my fists to uncurl.
And all this pushing and punching
makes my head feel like the weight of the world.

Now I'm laughing at you with a mouth full of blood and a sting in my eye from the growing flash flood
of tears in my eyes.

It really comes as no surprise that you didn't knock me down
didn't knock me down, didn't knock me down...
